Here's a quick video about the Ping email assistant.

What's really cool is this email assistant lives inside your email, but there are a few settings that you can adjust inside of Ping. So if you click on the settings in the bottom left and then go to the email assistant page, it's gonna ask you to connect your email here, whether that's Google or Outlook.

Afterwards, you will need to turn on the Ping email assistant as it is in beta.

Once you have it on, there are these settings down below that you can adjust. I'll come back to these in a second. I'm gonna hop over to our email now.

This is what your email will start to look like once you connect the Ping email assistant.

Ping automatically goes in and creates these tags for you based on the context of the email. It'll also create automatic drafts for you. So as you can see, any email that needs a response is given this to respond tag. And then inside of it, you can click on it. It'll have a response automatically generated from you. What's pretty cool is Ping is pulling from the client memory. So any other emails or meetings with this client, Ping will automatically be able to pull from those and create this draft for you.

Um, other labels are notifications,

1:05

FYI, meetings. So so these are not asking for specific responses,

1:10

but it is helpful when you're trying to go through your email.

1:13

If you don't like marketing emails inside your main inbox here, you can actually go back to ping.

1:18

And inside the settings down below, you can choose which type of emails go directly to your inbox and which skip the inbox. So for example, I don't like marketing emails or the meeting updates,

1:28

and I can save that. And now those emails will not be kept in my main inbox.

1:33

Now if we go back up to the

1:36

email drafting preferences, this is where you can choose exactly how you want your emails done. So you can choose length and email tone. I like a friendly, concise message here. And then I have a custom instructions here that's just warm and clear. This is just kind of how I like to write things out. But the more you use this, the more Ping's gonna be able to adjust to your tone.

1:56

So continue to use it more and more, and it should keep getting better and better. And then down below, you can also add a closing second... Signature that's added to each of the emails that's drafted.

So that's the Ping email assistant. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let us know, and hope you enjoy it.

Summary

Docker Davis walks through setting up Ping’s beta email assistant and customizing how it handles messages and drafts. Once connected to Google or Outlook and enabled, Ping labels emails by context and drafts replies using client memory from past emails and meetings.

  • Labels include “to respond,” notifications, FYI, and meetings.
  • Settings let users choose which email types stay in the inbox or skip it, such as marketing emails and meeting updates.
  • Draft preferences include message length, tone, custom writing instructions, and an email signature.
  • Davis recommends using the assistant over time so it can better adapt to the user’s tone.
