How to Record In-Person Meetings on Ping

Here's a quick video on how to record in person meetings on Ping. So you'll go to this new meeting button here over on the side, and if it's
small like this, there's the new button as well. You'll click that, then you'll use the live audio option.
Once inside live audio, you can see the microphone is working with this input level here. You can also swap where the microphone is coming from as well.
From there, you're gonna click record.
And then you'll see on the left, there's this record and it's counting up as well. And if it's enlarged, it'll say recording and it'll just keep counting up there.
Um, you should be able to navigate to other windows as well and ping will continue to record. As long as your computer is not shut or closed, ping should continue to record throughout. Once you do finish recording, you can press stop here, save and upload.
And then while that's uploading and processing, it's going to bring you to the meeting page, and you can see it's processing here. Then you'll wanna update the meeting notes, or else you'll have a lot meetings that just say voice recording. So I'll just name it test meeting here.
And the longer the meeting is, the longer it will take to process.
This one was pretty short, so it should happen quickly here.
But the other thing you'll wanna do to these meetings is you'll wanna add participants.
Adding participants is including the people that you are talking about on the call or who you're talking during
the meeting here. So for example,
if I type in John,
you can see we have our test client here.
When I add John to this, it'll add to the client memory inside this client here. So if you ever are talking about a client or you're meeting with a client and you record that, you want to include them in
the participants and you can add multiple as well. But adding them as participants will contribute to that client memory. So that's very important as well. Now you can see it fully processed
and you can update who the speaker was. So it'll bring up multiple speakers if there's multiple people talking,
and then you'll type in my name here, for example, and you'll have to save and reprocess, and it'll reprocess with the names.
Then from there, um, you can go ahead and look at the... Listen to the recording here,
um, or you can review action items and do everything in normal meetings as well.
The other option is you can actually record from your phone. I'm gonna make my picture larger here so you can see it on my phone.
So on your phone, you can see the Ping app here. When you log in, it's just gonna have this page here. It's your only option. And you'll go ahead and tap live recording. It'll ask for permissions to record, but then it'll look pretty similar with the, uh, volume there.
When I click start, it'll start recording here and start counting. On the phone, you do need to leave your phone open on this page the whole time. If your phone turns off or if you leave this page, it will stop recording, um, and it'll keep being that way until we come out with a mobile app, which we're looking to do here in the near future. So make sure you leave it open and you should get the recording here. And then when you press stop and it'll have the same thing, save, discard. You'll click save, it'll upload it and say saved, and then open another recording so you can record again.
Then you can go into ping and I will minimize this here.
And then you should be able to go to your home page, and you'll see a new meeting come in here shortly that then you can name and add participants to as well. So that's how you record a meeting in person on Ping.
Summary
Docker Davis demonstrates how to record in-person meetings in Ping on desktop and phone, then prepare the recording for follow-up. On desktop, recording continues while navigating between windows as long as the computer stays open; phone recording requires keeping the app’s live-recording page open.
- Desktop: choose New meeting → Live audio, check the microphone/input, record, then stop and Save and upload.
- After upload, name the meeting and add relevant participants; adding a client as a participant contributes the meeting to that client’s memory. Multiple participants can be added.
- Once processing finishes, assign speaker names and save/reprocess; recordings, action items, and other meeting features are then available.
- Phone: open Live recording, grant microphone permission, and keep the page open throughout. Stop and save to upload; the meeting will appear on the Ping home page for naming and participant updates.
